Abstract

The increase in highway infrastructure in Mexico has brought social and economic benefits to the regions, improving the quality of life of the inhabitants. However, the opening of roads also generates negative effects on the environment. It is important to evaluate these impacts in order to design strategies to avoid, mitigate and compensate them. In this work, significant environmental indicators are identified to evaluate environmental impact of highway infrastructure.
