Abstract

The instability in a system of towers and transmission lines is due to the traction stresses that occur in the coupling between the system and the conductors. The analysis detailed below is applied to a trio of conductors of one phase for a 500 kv tower. This study focuses on examining the efforts and stresses that occur on the structure and on each of the conductors that make up the trio, due to the impact of the wind on them, with the aim of obtaining the behavior of the following variables: Pressure distribution, Total moment coefficient: Cm, Total drag coefficient: Cd, Total lift coefficient: Cl, Total front lift coefficient: Cl (f), Total rear lift coefficient: Cl (r).
