A current environmental problem is the detection of emerging contaminants in bodies of water. To reduce these contaminants, multiple removal systems are used, one of the most effective being adsorption. With the aim of eliminating emerging contaminants, the efficacy of new natural, abundant and cheap adsorbent materials has been investigated. The use of these new adsorbents has shown their full application to adsorb a large number of contaminants. The present work presents preliminary results of omeprazole adsorption in hybrid adsorbent materials developed based on a natural montmorillonite, and lecithin-modified montmorillonite (Orgalg), using a spheronization process for pearl formation through an alginate matrix. The materials obtained were characterized by Zeta Potential, obtaining a negative surface charge for all adsorbent materials, being higher for Orgalg and the highest adsorption capacity was 4.15 ±0.01 mg/g for Orgalg beads.
