This report describes current research processes and results related to the study of Traditional Green Facades (FVT). A controlled trial is currently being evaluated, consisting of three masonry study walls in west orientation, with an air chamber. Two of the walls have FVT of Honeysuckle and Bignonia species, and one witness without coverage. Mediate external microclimatic variables; air temperature and exterior and interior surface temperature are monitored. Decreases of up to 3.5 °C are recorded in the immediate environment, up to 6.2 °C in the indoor ambient temperature in the air chamber, up to 17.8 °C in the outer surface temperature, 7.5 °C in the interior surface temperature and differences up to 2.0 °C between the two VTTFs. These values demonstrate the potential for reducing the PVF of building temperatures, and that the magnitudes of these impacts depend on the plant species.
